Welcome to our home!

Friends of House of Sweden, Embassy of Sweden and House of Sweden in Washington D.C. has become a spectacular landmark on the shores of Potomac River in the heart of Georgetown, and is a unique meeting place in the U.S. for promoting mutual Swedish and American interests.

House of Sweden was inaugurated in October 2006 and approximately 400,000 people have participated in various events hosted by Friends of House of Sweden and Embassy of Sweden during our outreach programs. House of Sweden is home to not only Friends of House of Sweden and Embassy of Sweden but also other offices, Embassy of Iceland and the building also has an Event Center that features conference and exhibition halls.

Friends of House of Sweden and Embassy of Sweden’s public diplomacy program series, launched in conjunction with the opening of House of Sweden, is so far the most ambitious project undertaken by a Swedish mission abroad with exhibitions, seminars, roundtable discussions and events open to the public.
